Biography

Jonathan joined Compass in 2013 and later went on to acquire the company, leading the firm through a period of growth supporting renewable energy projects and procurement processes across North America.

He is a renewable and clean energy market expert with extensive experience assessing the market, technical, and economic risks and opportunities associated with energy infrastructure projects. Over the course of his consulting career, Jonathan has led numerous solar and battery storage feasibility studies and market assessments, supporting both front-of-the-meter and behind-the-meter applications across Canada.

Jonathan has also led the sale of wind and solar assets in Ontario and served as an expert witness in a dispute related to the timing and cost of solar system deployment. Earlier in his career, he led a team that originated and secured more than 80 MW of distributed solar projects in Ontario under the former Feed-in Tariff Program.

Prior to Compass, Jonathan was an Associate Director at Navigant Consulting and also held roles with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). At Navigant, he conducted market assessments supporting several major Canadian renewable energy transactions. During his time with the OPA, he served as the Evaluation Monitor for the FIT 2.1 procurement.

Jonathan now focuses on renewable and clean energy development through his own company while continuing to support Compass through strategic advisory and governance as a member of the Board.
